Spaceshaper is a practical toolkit to measure the quality of a public space before investing time and money in improving it.

It was developed by CABE Space, and is now being managed by The Landscape Institute

Spaceshaper brings together the professionals who are running the space with the people that use the space, and through a facilitated workshop, including a site visit, a short questionnaire and group discussion, generates a picture of the strengths and weaknesses of the space. A report is prepared summarising the workshop findings,  highlighting how the space works for different people.

I am an experienced facilitator of Spaceshaper workshops for a diverse range of clients, and have led the training of new Spaceshaper Facilitators. I was also closely involved with the development of the 9-14 version to engage young people in the process of improving public spaces.
