I have worked with tutors and students from Universities and Colleges across the south east and beyond, on a range of projects that make the connections between the development of Urban Design skills and knowledge, and real life development proposals and clients. Previous projects include:

  • Devising and delivering a series of Urban Design modules for MSc Planning students at the University of Brighton to support their study visits

  • Places from Spaces, a joint project with Solent Centre for Architecture + Design and Kent Architecture Centre, which brought together architecture and urban design students from three Universities (Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton) and local authority staff and councillors in those cities, to develop and implement temporary transformations in public spaces in order to engage local people in thinking about how those spaces might be improved. This project formed part of the Academy of Urbanism’s UniverCities programme.

  • In 2008 I worked with students and tutors from Bristol UWE School of Architecture on a project to develop ideas and proposals for a new ‘architecture centre’ for the North Kent Thames Gateway. This work was exhibited in London as part of Architecture Week for the Architecture Centre Network

  • In 2007 I supported a Sixth Form Summer School organised by the Urban Renaissance Institute and University of Greenwich. The students visited and developed proposals for sites in the Medway area, and made presentations at the end of the three day experience
